Green Inaugural Ball Style

The Fab and Frugal DC Fashion Style Blog Green Inaugural Ball 2013 Ralph Lauren Black Silk Dress Ciner Vintage BraceletI clean up nice. I got this classy Ralph Lauren Collection frock at Saks Off Fifth at Potomac Mills marked down to $400 from $2675 – quite the steal if I do say so myself. I added the beautiful vintage Ciner bracelet from the set my parents bought me for my wedding as a nod to the Green Inaugural Ball held at the beautiful Newseum of course. My hubs wore a Calvin Klein tuxedo.

Ball attendees included a surprise appearance by Vice President Joe Biden who said, “I also came to tell you what my green wish is: that we finally face up to climate change. I came to thank you.” Chills! Will.i.am and Sugar Ray performances were followed up by Bill Nye The Science Guy and SurvivorMan! Open bar and lustrous views of the nation’s capital didn’t hurt of course.

My Unexpected & Unannounced Hiatus

Forgive my neglect. I’ll spare you the deets, but the big move to the Nation’s capital has left me under the weather in more ways than one. It’s been, and continues to be a rough transition, which explains my 2.5 month hiatus from writing a SINGLE word. Blame it on the combo of being sartorially uninspired and emotionally drained.

With that said, I’m back, and forcing myself to get back to doing the things I love and those that inspire me. Because in the words of Bey, who run the world? GIRLS.
